About Us
Our story began in 1914, inspired by the dream of the Wu family—migrants who, through hard work and dedication, started a small business selling various products. Over time, this family journey grew and reached Lima, aiming to expand across the country and become a part of every home in Peru.

2024
We inaugurated a new warehouse in Arequipa, along with an additional marketing office in Orúe (Lima).
Our portfolio grew with the addition of Mahou , Diablitos and Colacao.
We proudly secured the #5 position in the Logistics Sector in the MERCO EMPRESAS ranking and entered the TOP 200 in the Talent Sector.

We were certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) by SUNAT and ranked among the top 6 companies in the logistics sector according to MERCO EMPRESAS.
We also began a strategic partnership with Incasur, a leader in the food segment, including its iconic brands Sol del Cusco, Cusco Real, Kiwigen, Incasur, Choko, Kiwilocos, and Vitalmax.
Additionally, Stolichnaya and Cipriani, both renowned alcoholic beverage brands, joined our portfolio, further expanding our diverse offerings.2022
We enhanced our portfolio with key brands: Garzon and Acquesi in the wine segment, and McColins and Lipton in teas and infusions.
We also relaunched Tic Tac in Peru and launched Kinti, our own paint line.To top it off, we proudly earned the Great Place to Work (GPTW) certification for the very first time.

Lindt joined our portfolio, strengthening our presence in the premium segment. We also incorporated Reynolds and launched Powercan, our own pet food brand designed to meet the needs of a growing category.
2020
We were selected as the official commercial partner of Barilla and Ferrero Group in Peru, proudly bringing iconic brands like Barilla and Nutella to market.
2019
We began providing merchandising services to SC Johnson. Marinero was relaunched, and The Macallan joined our portfolio.
2017-2018
We strengthened our wine portfolio with top Argentine brands like Catena Zapata and El Enemigo, and expanded into premium spirits with The Macallan from Edrington Group. We also successfully relaunched our canned fish brand, Marinero.
2016
Becoming a Full Service Distributor (FSD) for Duracell marked a significant step up in our commercial trajectory, opening the door to strategic alliances with leading brands such as Splenda, The Hershey’s Company, Kellogg’s–Pringles, and Pirucream.
2015
Construction of the Los Olivos Distribution Center marked a key milestone, doubling our operating capacity and offering a strategic location—close to the port of Callao and at the heart of Lima’s densely populated northern zone. The facility was officially inaugurated on July 4, 2016.
2013
We acquired the Yes brand and began representing Spanish wine group brands El Coto de Rioja and Barón de Ley.
2008-2010
Viña Cobos, Ron Medellín, Aguardiente Antioqueño, and Trolli joined our portfolio.
2007
Ayllón 2, Yichang’s second-largest warehouse, was inaugurated. The company moved to its administrative offices in San Isidro.
2005
Mentos joined our portfolio.
2003
The Cuzco warehouse was inaugurated. The SAP system was implemented. Aconcagua joined the portfolio. Ayllón 1 warehouse was modernized.
2000
Yichang absorbed Electrónica Wynk, incorporating Bose and Pioneer into our brand portfolio.
1996
G.W. Yichang acquired the Compass brand. The Chiclayo warehouse was inaugurated, marking a key milestone in distribution decentralization.
1995
SURFAC was sold to P&G. The Yichang Club, located on Nicolás Ayllón Avenue, was converted into a tailor-made warehouse.

Starts the manufacture of cookies and wafers Costa Peru associated with Carozzi Group – Chile

The remodeling and modernization of the Nicolás de Piérola and Ayllón 1 warehouses begins.

Florida and Marinero joined our brand portfolio.

Yichang began manufacturing operations thanks to government incentives. The SURFAC detergent plant (Magia Blanca and Ayudín) was established.

Commercialization of Concha y Toro’s Casillero del Diablo begins.

Wynk Electronics was created by the Wu Family, Manuel Yagihashi, Minoru Nakano and Jose Kanashiro. The portfolio included the commercialization of Pioneer equipment.
1970
The Ayllón Distribution Center was built under Alberto Wu’s leadership. Formerly used as a warehouse and recreational area for staff, it became home to the new “Pedrito” brand.
We entered our own and represented brands such as Vape and partnered with CORMESA.. Yichang was part of the founding of Ajinomoto del Perú and oversaw its import and commercialization.1968
The military government era began, and the Huancayo office was closed.

The Wu Family moved out of “La Casona Yichang”, which continued to serve the public and clients from the provinces.

The Wu Family created a new business model where salespeople visited clients across Lima and rural areas.
1946
The property at 1658 Nicolás de Piérola Avenue, Lima, was acquired. Construction of the new and modern main office began.
1936
Yichang commercialized grains, cereals, Peruvian goods, and imported products from China such as porcelain, ornaments, textiles, tea, and food items.
1929
G.W. Yichang & Co. was founded by Don Guillermo Wu Yichang (G.W. Yichang), Don Wu Szichion, Don Alberto Amey Wu Szihong, and Don Ali Wu Szi Yip.
1928
The company Kwong Gen Lung ceased operations.
1924-1926
The Wu Family settles in “La Casona Yichang” on Capón Street — a 400-square-meter space used for housing, administration, sales, and storage.
1920
Kwong Gen Lung relocated to 686 Capón Street, Lima.
1916-1917
Guillermo Wu Yichang and Ali Wu Szi Yip opened a business branch in Huancayo for the purchase and sale of various and agricultural products. The Lima branch (storefront) was operated by Wu Szichion.
1914
Don Guillermo Wu Yichang, his son Ali Wu Szi Yip, and nephew Wu Szichion arrived in Lima from Taishan, Canton, China.
They opened the Kwong Gen Lung warehouse to commercialize various goods at their first location on San Pedro Street in downtown Lima.
